      Hi Raymond,
This program is based on your skills and experience, and therefore there is no course in the traditional sense. Essentially you will be allocated a student support office who will work with you hand in hand to compile a portfolio of evidence that you will use to prove you have experience to cover the competencies found in the 9 units from the Certificate IV in building and construction required for the completion of this licensing outcome. Upon completion of your portfolio you will be assessed on your knowledge and understanding of each criteria posed under the units and given gap training as required. Then it’s happy days – you will receive a statement of attainment showing the units you require to apply for your Kitchen Bathroom and Laundry Renovation Licence in NSW.

      Vincent,
I would guess you will require a joinery or cabinet making licence (http://www.qbcc.qld.gov.au/cabinet-making) in order to carry out works as a subcontractor to a KBL contractor.
Alternatively you may be signed up as an apprentice working as an employee for the company.
For the plastering work, I would suggest you need to hold a plastering dry wall licence. http://www.qbcc.qld.gov.au/plastering-drywall.
These are my suggestions only and based simply on the info above. You must check these with QBCC before making any licensing decisions.

Hi. I am an experienced tiler (4+ years). I would like to apply. Could you please explain me this “If you are qualified in one of the following, then you only need to show 2 years experience in KBL.”
Also I have experience in bathroom renovation.

What KBL is? Also I certified in VIC as a tiler but I am going to move to QLD in 6-8 months.
I would appreciate any help to become a certified bathroom and kitchen renovator.
    Thank you very much.

      Hi Serghei,

In QLD, to apply for your kitchen, bathroom and laundry reno licence, one of the pathways is to be a qualified wall and floor tiler, and show that you have 2 years of experience in kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations. If you have this experience, it is best to contact QBCC (QLD licensing regulator) and enquire if you are eligible for the licence.
