The Allied Health Assistant RPL program reflects the role of allied health assistants who provide therapeutic and program related support to persons, in the health, aged care, disability and any other settings where Allied Health Professionals provide services. Allied Health Assistants work under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals and assist in identifying circumstances and risks and report issues.
Workers will follow safe work practices for direct client care, assist with movement, support maintenance of functional status, assist in the development of meals and menus to meet dietary and cultural requirements, support the development of speech and communication skills, support independence and community participation and Assist in rehabilitation programs.
At least 3 years relevant industry experience in a wide range of Allied Health assistance work where the majority of the experience was obtained within 10 years of the date on which the application is made.

Candidates must have completed 120 hours of clinical placement as detailed in the Assessment requirements of the units of competency and engaged to work in single discipline or multidisciplinary roles not limited to health, aged care or disability services and other settings and may also have responsibilities for other allied health assistance workers according to their scope of practice.
The Skills in The qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and state/Territory legislation, Australian standards and codes of proctice.
