To carry out kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation work or to apply for the license, according to the NSW Fair Trading requirements you will need to complete one qualification from Group A and the units of competency in Group B. If you already hold or are licensed in a qualification from Group A you will only need to complete the units of competency in Group B.
The scope of work kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation includes installation, refurbishment, restoration and on-site repairs of or to a kitchen, bathroom or laundry.
At least 3 years relevant industry experience in a wide range of Kitchen, Bathroom & Laundry Renovation work with a licensed Builder.
Group A:
- Carpentry;
- Joinery;
- Plumbing;
- Wall and Floor Tiling.
Group B:
- CPCCBC4001A/ BCGBC4001A Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low-rise building projects, and
- CPCCBC4002A/ BCGBC4002A Manage occupational health and safety in the building and construction workplace, and
- CPCCBC4003A/ BCGBC4003A Select and prepare a construction contract, and
- CPCCBC4004A/ BCGBC4004A Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects, and
- CPCCBC4005A/ BCGBC4005A Produce labour and material schedules for ordering, and
- CPCCBC4006A/ CPCCBC4006B/ BCGBC4006A Select, procure and store construction materials for low-rise projects, and
- CPCCBC4007A/ BCGBC4007A Plan building or construction work, and
- CPCCBC4008A/ CPCCBC4008B/ BCGBC4008A Conduct on-site supervision of the building and construction project, and
- CPCCBC4009A/ CPCCBC4009B/ BCGBC4009A Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects
According to NSW Fair Trading, tradies applying for a license must have the relevant industry knowledge and experience and have a qualification or licensing in:
Group A:
- Carpentry;
- Joinery;
- Plumbing;
- Wall and Floor Tiling.
Additionally, applicants muse also have the relevant industry knowledge and have completed the following units of competency as part of CPC40120 C IV in Building and Construction:
Group B:
