Course Details
This course will train you to meet AS/NZS 3760 the Australian standard on testing and tagging for Test and Tag. Test and Tag is perfect for those who work in high-risk environments and need to test items the general public will come in contact with, wanting to start a run test and tag business and/or if you want to be recognised by insurance companies and auditors as an accredited provider.
Note: Unlike many Test and Tag courses out there, this course is actually Nationally Accredited. National code: UEENEEP026A Conduct in-service testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies.
AS/NZS 3760: 2010 is the Australian and New Zealand Standard that outlines the process of testing and tagging portable appliances in the workplace. This standard explains the tests required for the various types of appliances and the recommended frequency of testing depending on the environment in which the appliances are located. Hostile areas such as manufacturing facilities, building and construction sites require more frequent testing than non-hostile environments such as offices.
This course can be used nationally without restriction. In Queensland, you can use your certificate of competency to apply to the Electrical Safety Office for a electrical restricted licence if you wish to offer test and tag as a service. You do not require the licence if you are testing and tagging your own equipment or even your employers equipment.
This course is currently not available on its own. You can become a fully accredited Test and Tagger by completing our 3 day Disconnect and Reconnect Licence Short course and selecting the Test and Tag Upgrade.
