    Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We’re here to help.

    General

    • You will require a waterproofing licence in most states across Australia. This ensures that you comply with regulations and standards. For example, in NSW, waterproofers need a licence to perform any residential waterproofing, including strata, valued at more than $5000 in labour and materials. Holding a waterproofing licence also ensures you meet the requirements of any regulating bodies which will avoid you incurring penalties or fines. You can also legally market your services and initiate contracts/tenders, both of which ensure you earn more than unlicensed waterproofers.

    • To become a licensed waterproofer, you need to meet the minimum requirements in your state. For example, in NSW, here are the steps to becoming a licensed waterproofer:

      1. Complete a Construction Waterproofing qualification with Qualify Me.
      2. Undertake construction induction training and obtain a White Card.
      3. Apply to Fair Trading NSW for your waterproofing licence.
